Eric Carbonnier

Eric Carbonnier, PhD, is an architect and Vice President of Sustainability at HMC Architects focused on energy conservation strategies leading to zero-net energy architecture and regenerative futures. He was a Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Oregon’s Energy Studies in Buildings Laboratory (ESBL). Eric’s sustainable design initiatives resonate throughout his career and has collaborated on numerous high-performance designs including the new ZNE Live Well San Diego Project. Nicknamed Dr. Carbon by his students, Eric is currently lecturing at Cal Poly Pomona on environmental design and member of the Living Building Challenge’s Los Angeles Energy Subcommittee.
