Colin has created and communicated the value of new and important ideas, initiatives, and organizations for 30 years. He’s guided global brands (generating over $500 million in revenues) and startups (securing over $75 million in funding) through birth, growth, and even rebirth. He really got the green bug while Chief Marketing Officer of Biomimicry 3.8 (with partners including Interface and clients including HOK) and the Biomimicry Institute, where he helped grow the Global Design Challenge and network.
His “Find Your Woods” TEDx and “Going Green” on CNN International helped further establish him as a leading advocate of innovation inspired by nature. He also speaks frequently on sustainability, design, conservation, and entrepreneurship, recently at the US Capitol, Sustainatopia Silicon Valley, the Natural History Museum of LA County, and the Energy Branding Summit in Iceland, for which he serves as a CHARGE Awards judge. Colin is a LEED Green Associate, Living Future Ambassador, and Steering Committee member for ILFI’s LA Collaborative. With an MBA from the University of Liverpool, he is a guest lecturer at UCLA, USC, LMU, and the ESB Business School at Reutlingen University (Germany). Colin has been an Angeleno since 1998 and is now rooted in the hills with his wife, kids, cats, and whatever neighboring species happen along.
