Chad Edwards has 3 decades of resilient design including building Net Zero Energy, Water and Waste housing solutions on the mesas of New Mexico in the early 1990s and creating New Urbanist/ Form Based Coded Master Plans in the late 1990s. In 2007, he co-founded emersion DESIGN, the world’s first
= architecture and engineering firm with a LEED Platinum office. emersion quickly became recognized for their affordable, highly sustainable, healthy and beautifully designed spaces, buildings and places.
His integrative thinking has helped debunk the myth that high levels of sustainability need to cost more. Chad has worked on 10 Net Zero Energy projects, including some of the most sustainable projects in the nation, such as the Cincinnati District 3 Police Station – the world’s 1st LEED Platinum and NZE police station and NZ19 Trailblazer Award winner.
Chad has spoken at national and international symposia, led the region’s most influential sustainable non-profit organizations and has contributed to the regions most advanced sustainability plans. Due to his leadership, Chad has been invited to speak to US House and Senate on sustainability matters. Most recently, Chad co-created the Cincinnati 2030 District and serves an advisory role to the director on energy and health metrics.
