Zero Energy Director
International Living Future InstituteSeattle, WA
Andrew Lee directs the Zero Energy and Zero Carbon certification programs for the International Living Future Institute (ILFI). In this role, he provides key thought leadership on how buildings catalyze a shift towards a clean and regenerative energy future and can serve as the most effective mechanism for climate action.
Lee brings deep technical knowledge and a systems-thinking approach to his work at ILFI, with over 15 years of experience in advanced building design and carbon emissions reduction policy. In his previous work, he led building greenhouse gas evaluations for over a dozen major U.S. cities and helped guide the development of energy policy roadmaps to achieve a zero net carbon building sector. Prior to that, he served as a senior technical consultant to precedent-setting green building projects, including net zero energy and water embassies for the U.S. State Department and zero energy prototypes for Fortune 500 companies such as PNC Bank. Lee currently centers his work on empowering organizational leaders to pursue Zero Carbon goals, most recently facilitating workshops for ground-breaking initiatives such as the World Green Building Council’s Advancing Net Zero Framework and leading ILFI’s Paris Solutions Campaign.
