Tannaz Tahmassebi is a Design Resilience Leader in Gensler’s Los Angeles office, where she leads climate, energy, and decarbonization strategies across aviation, education, workplace, and adaptive reuse projects. Her work focuses on advancing Net Zero Energy and zero carbon goals through high-performance design, building electrification, renewable energy integration, and embodied carbon reduction. Tannaz has extensive experience supporting airport and infrastructure clients, including sustainability leadership on projects at San Diego International Airport. She works closely with project teams to develop and implement energy reduction strategies, evaluate pathways to Net Zero Energy, and integrate sustainability objectives into design and operational decision-making. She collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to align architectural design, building systems, and operational performance with climate action goals. Her expertise includes green building certifications, embodied carbon compliance, energy modeling coordination, and sustainability planning.
