Sophie Pennetier

Associate Director, Special Projects, Enclos

Sophie holds 15 years of experience in design of complex structures and facades. With curtain wall manufacturer Enclos since 2018, she has steered select scopes of Sales, Design Assist, and R&D on specialty facades projects. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Facades Tectonics Institute. In 2020, she co-advised the Master Thesis of UC Berkeley’s Isabelle Hens in establishing comparative GWP-informed procurement/supply chain strategies for Enclos, presented at FTWC2022. Today, she is co-steering Enclos’ EPD task force, enhancing carbon-informed design and procurement strategies, as well as external documentation. In 2022 Sophie co-authored “Decarbonize Now” with Laura Karnath for IGS, proposing Holistic Bidding resources and solutions missing in day-to-day enclosure bidding processes. Sophie has lectured on the topic of Facades Embodied Carbon with Sciarc, USC, Hofstra, Facades+, and CLF-LA. Prior to Enclos, Sophie worked as a Structural Engineer with Arup NY, SHoP Construction, and RFR Paris.
