Rochelle Mills

President and CEO, Innovative Housing Opportunities
As President and CEO of IHO, Rochelle Mills implements the non-profit’s vision for high-quality affordable housing. Since joining IHO in 2006, she has expanded IHO’s footprint of award-winning developments across California and guided the organization to live its values. Prior to joining IHO, Mills and her husband founded mills studio, where their high-end designs were featured on FineLiving, Homes Across America, and other media. Ms. Mills also created a boutique art and architecture tour company that received international recognition. She believes her diverse background in architecture, construction administration, cultural tourism, community planning, creative placemaking, and entrepreneurship has uniquely prepared her to lead this organization at this moment. Ms. Mills served two terms on the South Los Angeles Area Planning Commission and the Crenshaw Community Design Review Board. She serves on the California Association of Local Housing Finance Agencies (Cal-ALHFA), Housing California, and the California Association of Local Economic Development (CALED) boards. She is active in the African American Real Estate Professionals (AAREPLA) and Black Developers Forum (BDF). She was recognized by Senator Josh Newman for her work in affordable housing, as a Bisnow 2022 SoCal Power Woman, and as a 2023 LA Times Commercial Real Estate Visionary.
