Patrick James Acosta II is a Santa Monica resident and proud product of the city’s public schools. Born and raised here, after graduating from Santa Monica High School, he then earned two Associate degrees at Santa Monica College and a Bachelor’s in History with a minor in Urban & Regional Studies from UCLA. For more than 12 years, Patrick has served on the City of Santa Monica’s Public Works team, where he is currently the Building Technician for City Hall East—the world’s most sustainable municipal building. He oversees complex building systems, ensuring smooth operation and performance that meets the Living Building Challenge Certification standards, keeping the facility net zero in energy, water, and waste. A former student-athlete, Patrick brings teamwork, discipline, and problem-solving to every role. He remains deeply committed to serving his hometown, whether improving infrastructure, advancing sustainability, or advocating for greater educational access for local students.
