Justin Di Palo is a Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer, ASHRAE Certified Decarbonization Professional (CDP), LEED AP, and WELL AP whose dedication to sustainability has led him to specialize in energy modeling and decarbonization consulting. As the National Sustainability Lead at Syska, Justin applies his passion for sustainability and decarbonization by employing whole building energy modeling to guide design decisions and optimize building performance. Justin strives to impact his clients’ building projects from concept to operation by emphasizing the importance and value of integrated, sustainable design. Justin's focus spans all market sectors, having worked on sustainable design projects in healthcare, commercial, aviation, civic, higher education, transportation, mixed-use residential, and hospitality markets. While each sector requires different design strategies, Justin approaches every project with the same principle: how to design a space that leaves a positive impact both on the environment and on the lives of the occupants. This is evident in his involvement in numerous projects that have achieved Net Zero Energy/Carbon, Living Building Challenge, and LEED Platinum, as well as his leadership in organizations such as the International Living Future Institute, USGBC, and ASHRAE.
