As the Special Projects Director of Sustainability at Mt. SAC, Eera is leading the charge to reduce the College’s carbon footprint, with the ambitious goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 through the implementation of the College’s Climate Action Plan. She works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students to drive transformative sustainability initiatives across campus. Eera is spearheading a campus-wide solar energy initiative, exploring incentives to expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and advancing a comprehensive decarbonization strategy aimed at reducing the College’s reliance on fossil fuels. A cornerstone of her leadership is the development and management of sustainability internships and fellowships, which engage over 30 students. These programs have proven to be deeply impactful—empowering students with hands-on experience, real-world problem-solving skills, and a platform to become the next generation of environmental leaders and change-makers. Eera is also a proud mother of three, motivated by a profound commitment to building a regenerative future for her children and generations to come.
