Dr. Caitlin Crawford

Flight Systems Engineer, Space Industry
Dr. Caitlin Crawford specializes in spacecraft operations, systems engineering, and solid-state physics. Caitlin has spent her last four years as a Flight System Engineer at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) focusing on both Earth and deep-space missions. Currently, she supports Europa Clipper, a mission to investigate the habitability of Jupiter's moon, Europa. In her roles as MOSFET Operations Lead and Flight Director for Clipper, she has developed operational strategies, has led cross-disciplinary teams, and has helped ensure mission success in one of the most challenging radiation environments ever explored. Outside of space missions, Dr. Crawford is a Pilates instructor, avid traveler, and hiker with her dog. Education: Ph.D. Materials Science, Colorado School of Mines; B.S.
