Christie Pollet-Young

Managing Director - GHG Verification, SCS Global Services

Christie Pollet-Young has created a unique career in conservation and the development and application of novel climate change solutions. She is currently the Managing Director of an internationally-awarded carbon offset verification program that has verified about 300 million tonnes of CO2-e around the globe.

She has also served as forest ecologist, conservationist, and natural resources management professional over her more than 25-year career. She is keenly interested in transformational climate change solutions and the creation of a circular economy.

As the Managing Director of the Greenhouse Gas Verification Program of SCS, manages a multi-disciplinary team of talented auditors and technical experts in carbon offset projects and programs worldwide. In addition to her focus on operations and sales, Ms. Pollet-Young is a lead auditor who has conducted assessments under the California Air Resources Board's Cap-and-Trade Regulation (ARB), the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), the Climate Action Reserve (CAR), the Climate, Community and Biodiversity Standards (CCB), the American Carbon Registry (ACR), among others.

Ms. Pollet-Young is a graduate of UC Berkeley and Yale University. She has previously worked for the Smithsonian Institution, The Nature Conservancy, and Columbia University. She has conducted research globally, including Thailand, Brazil, Peru, and Ecuador.

She is proud to be a board member for California’s Forestry and Natural Resources Career Mentorship Program which seeks to increase the entry and retention of early career professionals in forestry through personalized, one‐on‐one mentorship, particularly students from traditionally underrepresented communities. She resides on the land of the Ohlone people in the San Francisco Bay Area where she enjoys hiking in the redwoods and rock climbing.
