Ben Bye is an Associate Principal at CO Architects, where he designs environments that foster collaboration, innovation, and discovery for clients including UCLA, UC San Diego, Wake Forest University, Wexford Science and Technology, Rockhurst University, and Kansas City University. His depth of experience in designing and planning higher education facilities has earned him invitations to speak at leading industry events. Recent engagements include presenting on embodied carbon reduction in historic renovations for AIA California, presenting on innovations in medical and health sciences facility design at the Tradeline University Facilities Conference, boosting enrollment by leveraging existing facilities for new programs at the SCUP North Central Conference, and strategies for contextual and sustainable façade design at The Architect's Newspaper Facades+ Conferences in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Ben holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oregon, where he studied the early adoption of mass timber high-rise structural systems in the U.S., supported by sponsored research in Austria and the U.K.
