Alejandra's role at ROCKWOOL as Sustainability Manager is defining and implementing sustainability strategy and initiatives. She oversees the management and implementation of sustainability certifications and listings of ROCKWOOL’s product portfolio, ensuring products maintain a low embodied carbon footprint, achieve third-party certifications, and advance product circularity across their lifecycle. She is also responsible for monitoring and engaging with evolving policy and regulatory frameworks, with a particular emphasis on building decarbonization and lifecycle assessment. By collaborating with industry leading organizations, including mindful Materials, Canada Green Building Council, among others, Alejandra drives the adoption of low-carbon, sustainable, and circular solutions across the built environment. Her expertise spans building science and innovative building materials, with a focus on low-carbon, energy-efficient, and circular design. She actively contributes to the advancement of high-performance building standards through her roles in multiple ASHRAE technical committees, including previously serving as Chair of TC 4.4 Building Materials and Building Envelope Performance, and currently sits on the California Building Standards Commission Green Building Code Advisory Committee. Alejandra is also a part-time instructor at George Brown College in Ontario and a Certified Passive House Consultant.
