We've Got You Covered

What is the format for this year's Net Zero Conference?

This year, the Net Zero Conference will be presented over four days—September 13 - 16, 2021.

We'll begin the week on September 13 with the launch of our Climate+Change program, with a series of educational sessions and featured content from the wider sustainability world, ranging from agriculture and personal care to fashion and technology. The Net Zero Conference educational sessions, which focus more heavily on the built environment, will be hosted on September 14 + 15. The virtual Expo Hall will be open September 13 - 15.

On September 16, join us at our open-air, outdoor rooftop space at L.A. LIVE in Downtown Los Angeles for an in-person Expo Hall. Then, in the evening, we’ll be presenting the Trailblazer Award winners at our annual Gala at the same location.

What should I expect from the virtual portion of the Net Zero Conference?

All educational sessions are being presented virtually this year. Our virtual Net Zero Conference is not your typical Zoom event. Our goal in selecting a virtual platform was to mimic the energy at the in-person event as closely as possible, and we strongly believe that our best-in-class platform goes above and beyond to inspire communication, providing attendees with opportunities to engage and ask questions during sessions as well as in the virtual Expo Hall.

What should I expect from the in-person portion of the Net Zero Conference?

The in-person portions of the event will be held on September 16, 2021 only, at our open-air, outdoor rooftop venue. These include the in-person Expo Hall and the Trailblazer Awards Gala. Upon registering for an in-person offering, you will receive additional information about attendance, parking, and COVID-19 safety measures (see more on this in the Health & Safety section below). No educational sessions will be hosted in person.

How do I access sessions during the event?

When you register for the event, you will have the option to add links to join virtual sessions to your calendar. We will also send you a reminder email with your access link for the event before it begins. Finally, you can log into the Virtual Event Hub at any time to adjust your schedule and set up calendar reminders.

How do I register for the event?

Registration is located in the Virtual Event Hub, where the virtual portion of the event (September 13 – 15) will also take place. (Note that registration for both in-person and virtual offerings is hosted in the virtual portal.) You can view ticket options and pricing here.

Will I be able to earn CEUs for attending the virtual event?

Yes. Attendees will be provided with detailed instructions to self-report their hours for the Net Zero Conference. Our virtual platform allows us to track session registration and attendance -- if you would like to request a certificate after the event, please contact us at Our attendees typically self-report to USGBC, AIA, and ILFI.

Is there anything I need to do in advance of the event?

After registering in the Virtual Event Hub, explore the Program to ensure that you’ve signed up for any educational sessions you’d like to attend. You can log back into the portal at any point to adjust your schedule and set up calendar reminders.

Which sponsorship opportunities are available?

You can learn more about sponsorship levels, pricing, and benefits here.

How does the virtual Expo Hall work?

Our virtual Expo Hall lets attendees get that real, in-person tradeshow feel. Attendees can navigate to sponsor “booths” by clicking on their logo where it is displayed on the Expo Hall portion of the platform. From there, they can download materials, watch an intro-video, and connect with representatives through real-time video chat by simply "entering" their virtual tradeshow booth -- launching them into a live video conversation.

Real-time insights offer sponsors a view of which attendees visited their booth, as well as how many times they visited. Exhibit booth staff can react instantly by reaching out to those visitors to connect.

What do I need to do to set up my booth in advance of the event?

For virtual booth holders: Within a month of the conference date, we will send instructions to log into the platform and customize your Expo Booth prior to the event. Virtual booths can be customized by adding your company’s logo, description, keywords, documents, and video.

For in-person booth holders: Our sales team will be in contact with information on when to arrive for set up, as well as parking instructions, add-ons for your booth, and reminders about COVID-19 safety measures.

What is the Speaker Submission Process / Abstract Review Timeline?

Health & Safety

Updated September 8, 2021: The in-person portions of the Net Zero Conference will adhere to official government, local, and venue-specific guidance regarding COVID-19. Currently, our policy is the following:
When inside at the L.A. LIVE venue, we'll require guests to wear masks in the lobby and elevators, then you can remove your masks once upstairs on the open-air outdoor roof deck where the event will take place. If you don’t wear a mask outdoors, you are self-attesting that you have been vaccinated or tested negative. Given the increase in community transmission of COVID-19 and the growing presence of the more easily spread Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus, masking indoors, regardless of vaccination status, is essential to slowing the spread of COVID-19 in the community. The Delta variant of the COVID-19 virus spreads much more easily than strains of the virus that circulated in LA in the past.

While we haven’t reserved a room block for attendees of the in-person Expo and Trailblazer Gala, we’re pleased to share that there are plenty of hotels within 5 miles of our venue. Some of our favorites are the Luxe E-Central City Center, the JW Marriot, the Ace Hotel, and the Ritz Carlton.
