Introducing Our Emmy Award-Winning Emcee for 2026

We’re pleased to welcome back Emmy Award–winning environmental journalist and certified meteorologist, Sarah Pilla, as our 2026 Net Zero Conference emcee! Known for making complex climate and weather science accessible, she has spent the past seven years building Spectrum News 1 Southern California’s climate storytelling brand while covering critical issues including the Colorado River water crisis, extreme weather, clean energy, pollution, biodiversity, and climate adaptation.

Her reporting earned a 2021 Emmy Award for Best Environment News Story for “Oceana Trash,” examining the impact of plastic pollution on marine life. Sarah has produced and hosted several environmental television specials including “Innovations for a Sustainable Climate” in 2024. In 2026, Sarah expanded her role statewide, forecasting weather across multiple expanded Spectrum News networks throughout California.
