Passive House California
Born, raised and educated in France, Xavier graduated with a Master in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration and a Master in Sales & Marketing. He joined Carrier, the U.S. Air Conditioning and Refrigeration equipment manufacturer, for whom he worked in France, Switzerland and the United States in various Sales & Marketing positions for local and export markets.
In 1999, Xavier co-founded Reservit, an Internet hotel reservation system, which became one of the leading solutions in Europe for independent hotels with about 10,000 properties using their system. For 15 years, while in charge mainly of the business development and marketing aspects, the solutions were selected by numerous well-known hotel groups (Logis, Best Western, Châteaux & Hotel Collection, Relais & Châteaux, Inter Hotel…). From 4 people in 1999, the company grew to a team of 70 people when he sold his shares of the business before moving to the U.S. in July 2015.
In 2009 he discovered Passive House International, just after he finished building his dream house in France, acting as the General Contractor. Even if the architecture of the project was what he expected, he realized that the efficiency could, and should, have been improved by far.
Xavier has always been passionate and successful about promoting ideas and products he believes in and having an interest for architecture and the future of our planet. In 2014, he passed the Certified Passive House class from Passive House International and decided to promote the Passive House concept.
Xavier is now building the first Passive House in Los Angeles, adapting the Passive House concept to Southern California’s climate to make the concept affordable and reproducible for this climate zone. The house design was presented in June 2016 at the North American Passive House Network Conference.
